The Pancreaticobiliary Center at Memorial Healthcare System offers customized and comprehensive treatment of pancreatic cancer and cancer of the biliary tract.
You will be evaluated and treated by a multidisciplinary team of specialists who work collaboratively to provide optimized care. Our team includes:

Treatment is carefully customized to fit your needs. In addition to standard therapies and research protocols, our team uses the latest diagnostic procedures, minimally invasive techniques and surgical interventions to treat pancreaticobiliary tract disorders and cancers. We also address a number of benign conditions including:
- Chronic pancreatitis
- Pancreatic pseudocysts
- Post-operative strictures
- Bile duct stones
Our patient navigator will organize, coordinate and expedite patient care in order to provide adequate testing and minimize wait times. In addition, all new patient cases are reviewed individually at our weekly tumor boards.
Early Detection and Screening
National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines states that anyone with a family history of a first-degree relative or a second degree relative that has pancreatic cancer, should be seen by a genetic counselor for consideration of genetic testing.
If you have a family history of chronic or hereditary pancreatitis, or are experiencing signs or symptoms related to pancreatic cancer, one or more of the following diagnostic tests might be recommended:
- Computed tomography (CT) scan: Imaging test that can reveal the presence of suspicious lesions.
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP): Test that combines the use of endoscopes and X-rays to help a physician visualize the pancreas and biliary tree; biopsies can also be performed during ERCP.
- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS): Minimally invasive imaging test that uses an endoscope (a thin, lighted tube) to evaluate the pancreas for signs of cancer; if suspicious lesions are present, a physician can obtain tissue samples during the same procedure and send them to a lab for further analysis.
- Genetic testing: Tests of blood and other tissue to find genetic disorders.
- Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP): Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test that focuses on the pancreas and bile duct.
